Stuck in a state of perceived vacancy
My body is frozen, unknown to me
Screaming for help from behind withdrawn eyes
Unknown to them, my conciousness cries
In stillness I lay, my body betrayed
I attempt to move but no reaction displayed
Hearing their dread, that my body is dead
"I am alive!' I scream from within my head
Day by day, they sit and talk to me
Speaking of an existence they wish I could see
But over time their visits decline
Accepting their loss, they no longer try
I start to hear talk of unplugging me
Gradually accepting the idea of losing me
But in stillness I lay, my body betrayed
I attempt to move but no reaction displayed
Hearing their dread, that my body is dead

Days and months slip away
There is no telling of time in this state
Losing all grip with reality
What is the truth or fabricated by dreams?
